#Are you new? Read This First
First of all – Welcome!
If you are looking for a way to make money online, you are in the right place. Affiliate article marketing is the best way to make money online without needing a large capital investment or a budget for ongoing fees. Article marketing is something practically anyone can do. All it takes is a reasonable grasp of the English language (if you can read this, you are qualified) and a bit of ordinary common sense.
Is It Free?
You might have heard that article marketing is a way you can make money online without having to pay anything. And – yes – this is absolutely true. You don’t have to pay anyone to become an affiliate. You don’t need a website; you can use free blogs to market products. You don’t have to pay to post your articles on article directories, they are free and open to all. You don’t need to buy any fancy tools (even though plenty of people will try to sell them to you).
The Exception
There is one exception to this rule – although it is possible to get results using free blogs, it is always better to have your own hosting for the websites you create. If you visit the following link, it will take you to an article which explains why you should buy your own domain name .
When domain names can be bought for under ten bucks and reliable web hosting is available for as little as $4.95 a month it really is a no-brainer.
How Does Article Marketing Work?
Article marketing is actually a simple process. Here are the basic steps:
- Join the affiliate program/s of your choice
- Sign up for a free blog at blogger.com
- Write some articles about your chosen topic and post them on your blog
- Write some more articles and post them on free article directories.
You might be wondering how does that make money? This is the basic outline of how article marketing can make you money.
- The affiliate companies will give you links to their products. The links contain a code which is unique to your account
- You will include your affiliate link in the articles you write
- People interested in your topic will read your articles and click on your links
- When a visitor referred through your link makes a purchase, you get paid commission.
Is That It?
Of course, this outline shows only the bare bones of article marketing. But this skeleton supports a successful business model. You won’t need to learn any tricky stuff (like how to write code for a web page). But you will need to study things such as how to make your articles more likely to compel readers to click on your affiliate link. You will need to learn the rules to observe when dealing with article directories.
There are some other elements of affiliate marketing that will become important once you get started. If you are completely new to all this, you probably won’t know anything about how to build links (and how important it is). You will probably never heard of “LSI” or the myths surrounding the “duplicate content penalty” and there is no reason why you should; these things don’t exist outside of the world of Internet marketing.
Beware
One very important thing to learn is who you should trust. The answer is, don’t trust anyone you meet online. I don’t mean to scare you (well, not too much) or to imply that all Internet marketers are sharks or scammers. There are bad guys in every business and Internet marketing is no exception, so the chances are, you will see scammers in operation. But this is not what this warning is about.
The main reason for this warning is not because you are likely to be taken in by a scam, it is because the Internet marketers you come across will be trying to sell something. And there are numerous marketers in the business of selling Internet marketing tools, or membership of the latest money making scheme. If you encounter someone online who encourages you to buy an item or to sign up to a program to “help” you, you’d better believe your welfare isn’t their number 1 priority.
Warning Signs
As a general rule (and this hasn’t let me down yet), the more hype surrounding a product, the further you should get away from it. Do a search on Google for “make money”, “how to make money on the Internet” , and similar terms. You will find thousands of results from websites offering to show you easy ways to get rich. There are clear warning signs that will help you to avoid the time wasting scam sites – and you don’t even have to read a word of their hype.
The first sign is a website heavily featuring bikini-clad women clutching wads of cash, flashy sports cars, yachts, or cash floating in the air for no apparent reason. These websites will not be offering to teach you how to make money online using a proven business model. Most of them will be promoting a useless get rich quick scheme.
A slightly more subtle sign is where you see the words “ads by Google” above prominent groups of advertisements. In many cases, the ads take up more space than the website “content”. The owners of these websites don’t want to provide you with information, they want you to click on one of the ads they display – they get paid a few cents for each click through to the sponsor’s website.
